What is for sale
Affiliate relationships, through the network this site publishes with. If a reader signs up with a provider through a link here and that provider pays a commission, we are paid. That is the whole commercial model. Today 1 of the 3 providers graded here may pay us, and 2 pay us nothing.
What is not for sale
- A grade. Sub-scores are read from what a provider publishes and the weights are fixed and public. There is no price for a higher one.
- Board position. Every board on this site is ordered by weighted score; the comparator is not given the commercial flag. 7 of 7 boards are score-ordered today, and none is commercially ordered.
- Advance sight of a grade. No provider is shown its grade before publication, and no provider gets a right of reply built into the score.
- Removal. A provider cannot buy its way off a board, and declining a commercial relationship does not remove a row or soften its verdict.
- Editorial copy. No sponsored posts, no guest posts, no paid links inside article text, no reviews written or approved by the company being reviewed.
If a factual error is the problem
Providers most often write about a price or a disclosure that has changed. That is a correction, not an advertising conversation, and it is free: the record is re-read from your own published page and, if it was wrong, fixed and logged on the corrections page. A supplied figure is treated as a lead to re-read the page, not as a price to publish.
How disclosure works if we do work together
Every paid link is marked as paid at the link itself, every time it appears — not once at the bottom of a page — and the counts on the disclosure page are computed from the provider data, so adding a partner updates that page automatically. There is no arrangement available that involves not saying so.
